Plot the route from someday to done.
Start with a loose wish or a hard objective. Split it into steps and ride the route until it’s done.
Run a 10k by June
2 of 4 steps cleared
- Run 3 km without stopping
- Join a Saturday running group
- Run 6 km in under 40 minutes
- Sign up for a race in June
The route, in four moves
You don’t need a plan to start. Bring what you have and build the route from there.
Capture the raw idea
Start with the rough version, like “get fitter someday”. Vague is a fine place to leave from.
Lock the objective
Give it a finish line and a date, so “get fitter” turns into “run a 10k by June”.
Split it into steps
Cut the objective into steps small enough to start this week. Then you know your next turn.
Ride it to the end
Come back, clear the steps you finished and take the next one. Keep going until the objective is complete.
Describe the goal. Get a plan you can override.
Write what you want in one sentence. You get milestones and steps, plus a counter when the goal is a number. Override any of it before you save.
Your plan

Every run starts somewhere
Some people start with a wish, others with a deadline. Either one gets you on the road.
You’ve got a faint signal
You’d like to learn Spanish or get fitter, someday. Start there and sharpen the idea as you go.
You’ve got a target locked
You know the goal and the date. Split it into steps and clear them one at a time.
You’re rebooting
You set this goal before and lost the thread. Log it again and pick one small step to restart the run.
Your first run can start rough.
